Emily Ducote and Veta Arteaga will square off in a women’s flyweight bout at Bellator 202 in Thackerville, Okla., on July 13.
Promotion officials recently confirmed the pairing to the Idaho Press-Tribune. Bellator 202 takes place at the WinStar World Casino and Resort and is headlined by a women’s featherweight title tilt between Julia Budd and Talita Nogueira. The evening’s main card will be televised on Paramount Network at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT.
Ducote enters the matchup on a two-fight skid. She challenged for the promotion’s inaugural 125-pound belt at Bellator 186, losing to Ilima-Lei Macfarlane via fifth-round submission this past November. In her most recent outing, “Gordinha” dropped a split verdict to Kristina Williams at Bellator 195. The 24-year-old is 4-3 during her promotional tenure and 6-4 as a professional overall.
Arteaga, meanwhile, is 2-2 under the Bellator banner, but her defeats were narrow split decisions against Bruna Ellen and Anastasia Yankova. The 30-year-old Boise, Idaho, native also owns wins over Brooke Mayo and Jackie Vandenburgh in Bellator competition.
